Ibn Rushd (full name: Abū l-Walīd Muḥammad Ibn ʾAḥmad Ibn Rushd; 1126 – 11 December 1198), often Latinized as Averroes, was a medieval Andalusian philosopher and thinker who also wrote on various subjects. His wrote on philosophy, theology, medicine, Islamic jurisprudence and law, and linguistics.
