I like this character a lot. Like some comments below mention, he definitely takes it out his anger in the way 1w2s do, through redirecting...Benson finds it within his values to do a good and consistent job at work, he’s concerned with keeping things in order which is why he’s so upset at Mordecai and Rigby all the time. As a Te user he’s naturally going to be more inclined to enforce what’s most efficient. His anger might seem explosive, and he may seem to desire control, like a typical enneagram 8...but in truth, Benson is simply trying to make sure that he and his coworkers meet the standards set for them. Just like a 1 would. He just seems to be redirecting his anger on things that are inconsequential—it’s not like Mordecai and Rigby really listen. 1s do this so as to keep their true anger controlled and shut tight, not realizing that their critical tendencies can be doing damage. Interesting guy, I really liked him growing up. He made a lot of sense to me. During what seems to be the absolute peek of his anger, he says this to Mordecai and Rigby: “You lazy, no good slackers drive me nuts! Can’t you just listen to me once in your worthless lives? Because if you did, you’d see I’m trying to teach you some simple responsibility! Some pride in doing a job well done! But you wouldn’t know a job well done if you payed someone to do it for you! And even then you’d screw it all up on the account that you can’t even follow the simplest of instructions, worrying more about looking cool than doing your job!” This...is the epitome of Te dom enneagram 1 rage.
Biography
Benson Dunwoody (voiced by #SamMarin) is a middle-aged gumball machine who works as the manager of The Park. He is usually infuriated with Mordecai and Rigby, due to their constant slacking and mischief; he is sometimes infuriated with Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost as well. He is very hot-tempered and prone to fits of rage. He has a tendency of yelling at Mordecai and Rigby every time they slack off; starting in season 4, he may have a tendency of yelling at Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost if they slack off.
