Iris MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Iris? Iris is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - SX9 - 962 in Enneagram, RLOAI in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.

INFP makes a lot of sense. She's very clever. She learns how to move on after finding out she's a robot pretty fast. She's curious about her capacities. She didn't breakdown but instead played around with her settings to see what happens. She thinks fast under pressure to use her voice settings and mimic Josh's voice when the car won't start because of voice recognition. Then speaks German when the cop shows up because she knows she can't lie. Maybe this is because she increased her intelligence to the max. But what tips me off that she's Feeling dominant is how clearly she asserts her feelings are real. She's openly worried that his friends won't like her and clearly resents being told to "smile and act happy." She wants to apologize for being "mopey and weird" and talk about her feelings after awful sex. She values emotional closeness and is particularly interested in hearing the love lives of Josh's friends. Unlike Josh who rolls over after her cums and ignores her. This is before she finds out she's a robot or gains self-control. She's altruistic and helps Teddy escape, even putting herself in danger. This was noticeably her most impulsive moment in the movie because she forgot her aggressiveness settings were reset and that she can't harm anyone. She had the strong desire to save him and went for it armed with only a taser. So, I don't think she just wanted to use him to gain total self-control. Instead, she is kind and genuinely desires to help others. Her altruistic values were not programmed into her. She doesn't accept blame for Kat's death. She can read Josh like an open book. How greedy, entitled, and insecure he is, which is why he always needs to be in control to feel important. She sees how mediocre he is, even though she idealized him and still loves him. Her emotional insight gave her the strength to push back on his narrative and think for herself. Not complete detachment. I saw her shedding the burnt hand skin as a moment when she embraces herself without shame. The ending has her driving off with the 12 million dollars, smiling and waving to another companion bot with her exoskeleton visible. It shows she's not hiding anymore. She's happy and free. I think that's what she wanted most and came to want on her own. (She could be an ISFP, but I feel like shows enough Fi-Ne to be an INFP. I got the impression she was dreamy and romantic from the intro) I think she's an E9. But that might just be her programming since she's designed to be docile. Both Patrick and her idealize the memory of their meet-cute moments. She's instinctively helpful and fears losing Josh more than being strangled. She was very compliant to Sergey despite him not being her owner. She even rubbed the lotion on his back and shoulders (ewww). She clearly feels uncomfortable, but still wants to keep the peace and not rock the boat. 9w8 because she's resilient af and very much a survivor. She felt the need to confront Josh one last time and make it clear that he CANNOT control her anymore. She's free. That "go to sleep, Josh" was so satisfying and thematically significant. Quotes: "And you’re so fearless. It’s inspiring. I wish I could be more like you, but you know, I wasn’t built that way. I just… I feel like there’s always something inside of me holding me back." "What is this, Iris? Why did you come back here? / I wanted… [pauses] I needed to tell you to your face the days of you controlling me are over. From this moment on, I control my own actions. You are nothing to me." "Most of the time, it’s like… I don’t know. It’s like there’s this thick, black cloud covering everything. Like we see the world, but we don’t really see the world, you know? We’re all just stumbling around. Directionless. No sense of meaning. No sense of purpose. I know that might sound super depressing, but honestly, I think it’s a good thing. Because it makes us appreciate the other times. Those brief, transcendent moments when the lights flicker on, the black cloud parts, and you see the world for what it really is. And suddenly there’s meaning. Suddenly there’s purpose. If you’re lucky, you’ll experience this once in your lifetime. For me, it happened twice. The first was the day I met Josh. And the second the day I killed him." (This was said at the beginning and the end of the movie. This quote became so much more more badass after witnessing her character development to the end.)
