This is ridiculous, why are there no INTJ arguments and yet the votes increase? He is not an INTJ. I'm going to repeat all that I and others have already said, but more cohesively and put together so it's visible to people coming here and voting INTJ. The question comes down to TeFi vs FeTi. The way we can see this is by paying attention to the strategies he uses. Firstly, let's explain why not INTJ: An INTJ would be focused on having efficient strategies and objective task- and fact-based multilayered plans because of the high Te. And due to the tertiary Fi, they would have internal values they keep to and do not dismiss. This is where Maven constantly fails to make efficient choices, instead relying on emotional manipulation (which I will list examples of later). His lack of this logical, efficient military thinking is what made him so much “lower” than Cal (who I think is a high Te user) in people's eyes and what kept him from assuming any sort of command or making any decisions for the war; the only thing he did was predict the enemy's behaviour based on his personal understanding of their personality and persuade people to war for him (already signs of INFJ). He also has no morals he stands by except for his “I am a man of my word” which is only focused on Mare. And no, his obsession with Mare is not Fi. All types are capable of attachment and obsession. These kinds of obsessions with people (what I call the “stalker mode”) are related to a tunnel vision. An introverted perceiving function that zooms in on something and only sees that. This is why IXXJs are generally most likely to have it, followed by other types as Ni and Si go farther down the stack. But why INFJ? Because it fits him like a glove. What made Maven hard to defeat was ultimately the plans he had based on emotional manipulation and the meticulousness with which he acted and shifted personalities like masks the way an immoral Fe user would—an Fi user would not so easily give up who they are because Fi values authenticity. INTJs, specially, do not care for social niceties and making people love them because of blindspot Fe. They would not base their strategies on things fickle as others' emotions because they highly value Te. But Maven? He presented his image very thoughtfully and with a lot of control, knowing exactly how to be on the same page as the crowd and play with people's heartstrings because of knowing how they work (FeTi). That's why so many Reds of Norta loved him and conflicted the situation, with the Guard not able to move fast as it could have otherwise. Montfort even noted that what he seems is very different from what the Guard and Mare claim him to be. Maven relying on Fe emotional manipulation and masking is evident throughout the series. Examples? I'll copy what I wrote before: Him telling the children of the Silver Houses to stay so their parents would be worried and obey him? Him presenting the image of an innocent boy thrown into responsibility who loves his people as his mask and relying on the people's love so they would hesitate to trust the Guard at a time when all Reds were flocking to them? Him putting Iris in the thick of the conflict, relying on her mother's love and fear to bring all her forces? Those are all reliance on emotional manipulation instead of efficient solutions (Fe) and Maven's main strategies. Now, you might be wondering about Ti. Other than how it's the main tool he uses to figure out how societies, people, and their emotions work to properly anticipate and control them (basically using NiFe to read people's emotions and using Ti to deconstruct and understand it; also taking apart the war and seeing its ruse), it's clear in his famous mindset: truth is what I make it. This is Ti > Te. Ti is introverted and subjective. The reason it's become associated with truth is that, in creating an internal logical framework to understand the outside world, it is more willing to deconstruct things. But it's in creating that internal framework which it changes and uses that it begins to see truth as something subjective and subject to change. This is where Te values objectivity. It sees truth as a collection of external input and framework coming from the many individuals and sources of information that don't constantly change inside. That's why it focuses more on scores, practicality etc. and has become associated with management—it's an extroverted judging function that focuses on the outside in its attempt to consider the “tribe.” It would never say “Truth is what I make it,” because, in its outward focus on objectivity, it simply doesn't see truth as so easily changeable. At the end of the day, he shows no internal introspection or self awareness of values to stand by as Fi users do. He never acts efficiently as Te users do. What he does is read, expect, and manipulate emotions, which is NiFeTi. He is an INFJ, and here is your argument. Why the INTJ votes?
