What personality type is Tevye? Tevye is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - so/sp - 962 in Enneagram, SLUAN in Big 5, IEE in Socionics.
Just because someone is excitable does not make them an ENFP. He values tradition a lot and later becomes more adaptable due to his Ne but he always will value it. Furthermore, he is realistic and practical, which is not very Ne. And for a lot of the movie he was in a Fe-Ne grip. But ultimately he uses Fe and general moral standards and his decision-making process "on one hand x, on the other hand, y" is prime inf Ti. He doesn't use his own moral standards, Fi, to guide himself. The only functions that make sense for him are Fe-Si-Ne-Ti or an ESFJ.
