What personality type is Buddy Pine “Syndrome”? Buddy Pine “Syndrome” is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - sx/so - 478 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
𝕎𝕙𝕪 𝕊𝕪𝕟𝕕𝕣𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕚𝕤 𝕒 𝕊𝕖𝕩𝕦𝕒𝕝 𝟜: “Am I good enough now?! Who’s super now?! I’m Syndrome, your nemesis!” [1/5] I’m very confused as to why one of the biggest, if not the biggest Sexual 4 in any Disney movie is being typed as a Social 3? Sexual 4s can look a lot like E3 at times, I’ll grant that, but what in the world made people think this was Syndrome’s core type? People on this page appear to have a misunderstanding as to what a Social 3 is, because if there wasn’t, everyone would see how bad of a vote it is for Syndrome, especially in comparison to Sexual 4. I will first go over why Social 3 isn’t a good vote for him, or core E3 at all for that matter, before moving on to why Sexual 4 is a good option for him, as well as core E4. To sum up the points that will be made in this argument, Syndrome completely lacks the Passion of Vanity, does not fit the way core E3 deals with it’s image, and does not fit Social 3 as a subtype either. Instead, he fits core E4 much better, displaying a lot of Envy and Ego-Melancholy. Finally, when looking at the subtype of Sexual 4, we can find many more parallels between that subtype and Syndrome’s character. With that thesis out of the way, let’s get started. 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝟯: E3 and Social 3, alongside E2 and E4, are located in the heart/image triad, which means that every one of these types all care about their image in some way or another. E2 externalizes their image, focusing on flattering others through good deeds and fulfillment of wishes, being seen as a helpful person. E3 centralizes the image, focusing on minimizing any sign of weakness or flaw, and overidentifies with an idealization of the self that is successful, flawless, and universally loved and looked up to, repressing any internal judgement on themselves and looking solely to external opinions and values to seek validation. Finally, E4 internalizes their image, instead identifying more with the part of themselves that they see as deficient, less than, and lacking. Now in the case of Syndrome, he does not identify with the idealized and seemingly flawless self, nor does he identify or align himself with the expectations or values of the masses. He relies solely on his own judgement and metrics of self-worth in which he forms his image. While he craves approval from other supers and especially Mr. Incredible, his values and image are mostly independent of all of that. His own vision of what a superhero is or should be is quite evident of this ideology in him, rejecting the values of the world and it’s metrics on what a hero is. He then forms his own new ideology based on his own lack and his own rebellion against the system and making everyone else equals to him. -"No, no, I’m a new superhero!
