What personality type is Hermey? Hermey is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 4w3 - so/sp - 594 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
I’ve seen this movie hundreds of times, i had a weird obsession with it as a kid, specifically with Hermey. It’s only 48 minutes long and Hermey is a supporting character so it’s difficult to place him. But even though he doesn’t fit in, I can’t see him as a 4. He doesn’t try to make other elves question themselves like maybe a social 4 would. I think 5 fix with 4 wing fits the best because his main interest is simply learning more about teeth and dentistry. He has no concern with what other elves are doing or what he’s “supposed” to do, it’s kind of the comedy of his misfit character. MBTI wise I think Fe-inf Ti-dom would be more rational than Hermey. He probably wouldn’t try to put teeth on the toys. As a Ti dom he might have done the same, then when questioned, he might have explained how he’d think it’d make it a better, more fun toy because he likes dentistry. Instead, Hermey put teeth on the toys as his idea of what could make him “fit in” by bringing his interests into his work. I think this is an example of extroverted reasoning (Ne-Fe) in him whereas the hypothetical Ti-dom scenario represents introverted reasoning (Ti-Si.)
