He definitely has the awkwardness of an INTP in interviews and even while performing, but his Si is barely there...his lyrics are Ne and Fe all the way around, and his songwriting style musically is pure Ne/Ti. A lot of "what if" and "what about" statements in his music for sure, and he loveeeees to play around with odd time signatures and extremely unusual chords behind it all. Honestly not a lot of his songs are about his "journey" or first-person stories or anything, it's a lot of second-person narratives which of course points toward Fe. Honestly I'd say being a core 4 with balanced Ti/Fe makes for one of the most emotionally aware & articulate combos out there--the dude knows how to write great emotional lyrics in a super personal but also logical & coherent way. David John Matthews (born January 9, 1967) is a South African-born American singer-songwriter, musician and actor, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. Matthews was born in Johannesburg, and moved frequently between South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States while growing up. Matthews started playing acoustic guitar at the age of nine, and now makes it his main instrument.
