What personality type is Hans Gruber? Hans Gruber is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/sx - 853 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
I am torn on this one, I can fully understand the ENTJ votes. But here is my case for INTJ: Ni dom. Hans is always multiple steps ahead. He has clearly imagined several outcomes, which he is almost always anticipating and prepared for. Hans does use Te a lot, but it is all in service of his goal. His goal mind you, might seem very ENTJ on the surface, but I have hunch most ENTJ would not be content with merely being rich on a beach somewhere for life anonymously (something he alludes to) but would want to be known for such a feat, or seek some other power. Now he does allude to this as well with the Alexander the Great quote, which very well could just be thrown in as clever exposition to show Hans is well educated, intelligent, and driven. However, if we assume it has significance, you could argue he is an ENTJ who is aware that even if he pulls off this heist, he will not be satisfied for long, but this kind of meta self awareness itself seems INTJ. If he is ENTJ, this quote is just banter and showing he yearns to conquer. If he is an INTJ, he is expressing a genuine interest in philosophy and history. I think if he was ENTJ tho, he would be interested in blackmailing people like Takagi mentions. But being an INTJ Ni dom, he is too focused on his grand scheme to care about power trips and ego boosts. Hans is a well written character. Perhaps nuanced to a point where it is hard to peg him with a stereotypical personality.
