Personality

What personality type is Ryan “Sumo” Sumowski? Ryan “Sumo” Sumowski is an ESTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - sx/so - 874 in Enneagram, SLUEN in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.

I don't think sumo is a 7 core, neither a 7sx (not possible for a Se dom), I actually believe he is an 8. I think he is more anger and instinct than fear and mind focused, and he doesn't actually have the optimism, fear of missing out or anything a seven has, besides being reckless and an adventurer, wich are characteristics that both 7s and 8s share. He even shows difficulty on acting like clarence at the pajama party episode, where clarence is not with them and they (sumo and jeff) don't know what to do without clarence's "seveness", and both of them tries to act like clarence and do what he does and sumo don't know how. Also, at the dream boat episode, we can see sumo disintegrating into a 5 after the detention and when he decides to build a boat on his own, without any help, and he shows at that episode, when clarence and jeff call him to say (lie) that they're having lots of fun without him that he doesn't really care about missing fun, a seven would be absolutely desperate in his place, and a seven wouldn't work so hard to build a boat without any help.

Biography

Sumo is a scrappy, streetwise kid who grew up on the right side of the wrong side of the tracks. When problems arise, Sumo's solutions are unorthodox and often messy. A wild card and fearless to a fault, Sumo is unpredictable, independent, and often acts without thinking things all the way through. Sumo is fiercely loyal to his friends, and always available. Jeff and Sumo are polar opposites, but Clarence bridges the gap between them. Sumo is the instinctual third of this trio. #TomKenny
