What personality type is Eustace Bagge? Eustace Bagge is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/so - 863 in Enneagram, RLOEN in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
i do not think eustace is an ISTJ, inferior fi makes a lot of sense in his case especially in that mothers day episode; he suffered negligence at the hands of his father & his self-esteem was almost entirely destroyed by his overwhelming mother, only to metamorphose into a toned-down version of her. he rarely has an inner conscious, a gut feeling to give him a sense of whats morally wrong or right, furthermore he is very little in touch w his emotions- they r quite subdued & this repression (low fi) manifests itself through the cynical personality that eustace possesses. because of his sense of reality being dependant on what control he has over his circumstances and surroundings, eustace is also very materialistic, he never knocks down an opportunity to gain monetary riches. on several occasions where the bagge family encounters an unknown entity, eustace immediately takes charge of the situation and thinks of a way to possibly use it for financial gain (abstract tert ne working under te). 'king ramses' curse' is an especially good example of this, when first seeing the slab eustace makes nothing of it and deems it to be nothing more than garbage, however as soon as he learns of what commercial value it retains, he changes his mind & becomes determined to profit off of it. even when put under threatening danger, he refuses to let go of the slab until the very last moment. his lack of empathy & emotional concern was also evident in 'the last of starmakers' episode where in spite of the poor physical and emotional condition the squid was in, eustace immediately proceeded to berate it for taking up space on his property and afterward sold it to the government succeeding his realisation of what money the creature would bring him. one more reason that i believe eustace has tertiary ne rather than inferior is how he always comes up w multiple methods to scare courage & take out his frustration on him. overall, he just does not strike me as someone who is NOT te dom & fi inferior, what do u think?
Biography
A cranky old farmer who hasn't a modicum of kindness in the slightest. He thinks he can fix anything and grow anything, but this is never the case. He also has an insatiable greed for money. Later in the series we learn that he didn't have the best childhood, growing up with an uncaring mother and a selfish older brother, and his abusive home life is implied to be the reason behind his unpleasant attitude.
