Take Dirk's tendencies to try and "better" his friends (Telling Jake to be 'more like Jane'/more skeptical and giving him brobot as a sparring partner to prepare him for the greater jungle, trying to get Jane to be more trusting of him and Roxy, etc.) as well as his need to constantly better himself and amplify it by 10. Inherently, he has to have the same basis of personality as Dirk, or else Dirk himself wouldn't be able to state that he could understand how someone like him could go unchecked and end up like that.
