Known as the Tree of Death, he stands among the oldest entities in the series’ cosmology. He is the original ruler of Tartarus, having established dominion over the realm long before its later transformations. Mortimer is also the progenitor of Malorn Nightstar and the living ancestral source of all wraiths and reapers.
