Biography
Eurydice ('wide justice') was an Auloniad who of daughters of Apollo, and the wife of the famous musician and poet Orpheus. One day while fleeing from an attacker, she accidentally stepped on a venomous snake and was in turn bitten by it, falling ill and dying from its lethal attack. This would lead her husband to try to bring her back to life with his enchanting music, and later journey to the underworld to retrieve her.
