Shi Mei MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Shi Mei? Shi Mei is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sp/sx - 612 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.

Wanting peace through extremism doesn’t necessarily make someone a 2 or a 9; majority of Shi Mei’s character arc and motivations can be better explained if he’s a 6 with a 1w9 fix, as he’s got an idealistic plan of how to solve the big overarching problem regardless of what the cost may be to achieve it. He shows Ni and Fe through his ability to rationalise his actions are for the greater good, and they are ultimately altruistic since he doesn’t directly benefit from them, but he lacks the insight to see how things could develop based on events in the present. He’s so certain there was only one solution that he never even considered other options which could have resulted in far less collateral damage, therefore he lacks Ne. He’s not a natural caretaker, he shows an ambitious side (disintegration to 3) through self-preservation and fear of what he believes is inevitable, both indicative of being high Ni and a type 6. He’s at his “best” when he acts as the mediator (integration to 9) which can be seen at the very beginning and very end of the novel.

Biography

Shi Mei (师昧, Shī Mèi) is one of Chu Wanning's disciples at Sisheng Peak and a close friend of Xue Meng. Due to his weak spiritual powers, he specializes in healing. He presents himself as kind-hearted, polite and wanting to reason with people instead of fighting. He has a sweet temper and doesn't hold grudges. When Mo Ran and Xue Meng argue, he tries to calm them down and is the mediator. Despite Shi Mei's persona of outward diplomacy and submissiveness, Chu Wanning had picked up on a hidden bloodthirsty essence in Shi Mei even when he was young. #INFJVillains
