*sigh* here we go again with the smart = E5 misconception on this site. 5s are intellectually orientated, yes, but a lot of people forget that 7 is a head type too. E5 isn’t just simply about that. If that were the case, every smart person would be a 5. The difference is their primary desire is to avoid being depleted by the demands of the world, and so they set rigid boundaries against their environment for fear of being drained of their energy, time, and space. Where a 5 detaches and observes to gather the knowledge they need to feel safe from external interruptions and resource-consuming obligations, a 7 will always ultimately channel their knowledge into outward engagement. This is where the confusion with intellectualism in these two types comes from. Their motivations and applications of it are different. E5 is defined by introversion. This girl actively throws herself headfirst into dangerous mysteries, not just for answers, but for the thrill of adventurous problem solving. She is stubbornly proactive in pursuing her desires, takes charge in situations, and has no reservations about butting heads with authority or disregarding her superiors's orders. These are things that are very difficult for a 5. Takao's impetus is that she isn't content with applying her intellect from the safety of the emergency room. Because of this they are a rebellious character. The scene when the chairman of the hospital warns Takao not to step beyond her jurisdiction, and she gets so frustrated she throws a fit afterward is closer to E7's fear of being deprived than E5's avarice. This is also seen in how she refuses to be boxed into a single role even though she’s clearly a brilliant medical doctor. Her gluttony neurosis drives her to seek out novel and exciting experiences through ongoing criminal investigations where she utilizes the knowledge she's cultivated in many different fields. Overall, she fits the trait structure of a 7 more.
