Fiona ( INFP) MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Fiona ( INFP)? Fiona ( INFP) is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - SP2 - 296 in Enneagram, SLUAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
I've started a little project where I try (keyword on try) to type every character in this comic accurately. Before embarking on this (very pointless) journey I thought Fiona might be an ESFJ too (especially because lots of INFPs are actually mistyped xSFJs or ISFPs) but after reading I can confidently say... she's an INFP. ☆ FI: The main argument I see when discussing why Fiona cannot be an INFP is because she has no Fi, I disagree with that. Fiona shows many instances of Fi through the comic. In her monologue during the first chapter she talks about how someone once said that life is like a video game, she doesn't know who said it and doesn't care either, she's more focused on what it means to her and how it reflects her life. When presented with something concrete she uses her Fi to reach a conclusion based on how she feels about the situation. Example: When Naomi showed her a photo of Simon she processed that external information through an internal filter (he looks too serious ➡️ I feel he's mad at me) While I know all of the examples cited above could also be used as an argument for Fe. there is one particular moment that made my choice clear: When Alec tells Fiona the story of how Bea and Jonathan met. Fiona just can't understand how two people whom, in her mind, seem so perfect for eachother are not together. The story touched her and what SHE believed what's right so much that she immediately jumped to being Bea and Jonathan #1 shipper and supporter. I think the awkward way she acts and her constant worry about what other people think of her and if she's being weird originates from her internal values conflicting with external values and how society feels someone should act, not from being a Fe dom. In a nutshell: She suppresses her true feelings (Fi) in favor of social expectations (Fe). ☆ NE: Another argument I've seen is that she shows no Ne. I really don't know if I've misinterpreted things or sm because Fiona shows many instances of Ne during the comic. In the first chapter she focuses a lot on wanting to meet all kinds of people, she's open to possibilities and new and interesting things (kinda like Sven who is the textbook example of Ne dom) Being an extroverted and her auxiliary Function this is the one she uses when interacting with the outside world. Her use of Ne becomes super obvious when she's interacting with people (I think a reason for this is also that Fi doms have a very rich internal world and strong values, but don't know how to express them accurately or are afraid of judgement, which is very Fiona-ish) When trying to be friends with Zachary she learned he's studying music production and then her mind jumped to the one course in rapping she did in HS (classic Ne-Si). ☆ Si and Te: "When it comes to values that they have had adequate time to develop, they tend to have a solid sense of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. A lot of their perception in these cases is based on their personal experiences. This is because Si places a high value on real world experiences and its impressions of them. FiNe’s store all the interesting experiences and information they gather in their mind in an organized way for future reference." An example of this is when Fiona is reminiscing about her past crushes, this information has always been stored in her mind, she just didn't have an use to it until she began crushing on Sven. She took that past experience (All the people she likes end up rejecting her) and applied it to her current situation (She won't act on her crush on Sven because it'll probably end that way) "They may struggle to see how to realistically pursue their lofty ideals, and be at a complete loss as to how to form an actionable plan or pave out a single life path. They may need the help of another person or external system/organization to order their life or enforce deadlines." When trying to become friends with Zachary she didn't have a concrete plan (in fact, trying to become friends with him wasn't even her idea) then, and when she tried becoming friends with Simon, she needed external guidance (Patrick).
