After finishing the entire series in just one night (yes, I actually lost a whole night’s sleep for it), I was quite surprised to find no analysis of Damien Thisse’s character here. So, if I may, I’d like to share my own reflections on this fascinating and utterly captivating character. What struck me the most about Damien Thisse is his profoundly strategic mind. Throughout nearly the whole story, we witness a master of strategy at play: always ten steps ahead on the chessboard, anticipating his opponent’s moves, planning with such meticulous precision that his adversaries inevitably fall into traps with no escape. The second striking trait in him is his sharpness—cold, rational, and at times, almost ruthless. So much so that Gilles once exclaimed: ‘He is the devil incarnate.’ And indeed, no matter how much he loved Chloé, it is undeniable that what Thisse did to her at the beginning was unbearably cruel. He loved with his mind, not his heart. At first, he denied his feelings altogether, insisting it was not love but rather a desire to claim her, to make her his, to hold her tightly within his grasp, through manipulation her and her entire life. And that is precisely why Chloé, an INFJ who loves with sincerity and with her heart, was so deeply wounded. Their bond was fractured in a way that seemed almost irreparable. This reveals how highly developed his Te truly is—an intellect gifted in crafting, orchestrating, and executing strategies with near perfection. Next arises the question: is Damien an xNxx or an xSxx? The moment of Chloé’s attempted suicide reveals this most clearly. Damien was the only one who believed she was still alive, while everyone else thought he had gone mad with grief—so consumed that he could not accept reality. But Damien dared to believe in possibilities, in theories that seemed utterly irrational, choosing to think of them, to trust them, and to do everything in his power to prove them true. His tunnel vision here was overwhelming. This is where the contrast between Damien and Gilles becomes unmistakable: while Gilles, though in pain, accepted her death as fact, Damien refused to surrender. Even when the world mocked him as delusional, he clung to the conviction that his wife was still alive. So much so that, one night, lost in grief and intoxicated, he exhumed Chloé’s grave—yes, HE DUG UP HER GRAVE—just to see if she was truly gone. Because in his heart, he believed she could not have died. From just a single, fragile suspicion, he unraveled the entire truth, investigated again, questioned every witness, left no stone unturned—and through that, he found the wife he thought he had lost forever. Thus, his Ni stands out as immensely powerful.

He is the maternal nephew of the King and the only heir to the Duke of Tisse and is a very ambitious man. He is a gorgeous man like a python with his fangs hidden in his beautiful appearance.
