Everyone keeps telling me that I'm good at math and that I'd succeed if I "applied myself". I understand the appeal of math, I really do and I know what it takes to succeed in it. Truthfully, I've realized that with all types of math, once you learn the basics and backbone of each unit, type, branch or whatever the hell the rest should come easy. Only issues are 1. Learning the building blocks is aggravating since they're so complex and have such complicated rules to them and 2. Even when I do have the basics down, eventually there seems to be some "unknown rule" I didn't know about that conflicts with everything I learned that ends up confusing the hell out of me and then it's back to square one. That said, I will do literally any long division problem you ask of me. I used to struggle with that alot, but now it's one of the very few math areas I'm actually good at lmao.
