Yoko Shimomura MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Yoko Shimomura? Yoko Shimomura is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - so/sp - in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, in Socionics.
Yoko is an extreme perfectionist, highly focused in her own vision of composition. This is not a property of her self-criticism, but the sense of emotional atmosphere that would fit her music the best, and the people's emotions she gets infected by. Very inspired by creativity and the effort of making a lot of stuff, but almost never trusts herself, her internal feelings, the skill of arrangement of external setting I notice in Fe dominants or EF(N) types. So IN(F) > EF(N) because I see a more introverted approach towards making art. The way she always uses the epithets for describing the emotional state of each plot and its influence on atmosphere and emotional surroundings is very close to Jungian Fe's way of connections. Fe agrees with the way expression will be the most epic, dramatic for the moment of atmosphere or setting, be appropriate and else, serving the internal Ni idea of abstract vision and the essence of events as they are occurring in time. This is purely contrary to IxFP approach pursuing their own expression and internal ideal to come forward to that kind of compliance. https://www.square-enix-games.com/en_GB/news/live-live-yoko-shimomura-toby-fox-pt-2 «So I tend to worry I’ll be told that my music doesn’t fit the game, or that it might not be accepted by fans in the end… I get nervous because it’s not just my own thing.» Her whole anxiety might be attributed to enneagram 6 in my opinion, because of being fixated on fear and being compliant on externally approved way of expression, but she doesn't do it for the sake of keeping safety and harmony but just a lot of personal standards, Fe creative because how high she puts the emotionality and expression, and Te PoLR because she is kinda sensitive about relying on external rules of music - i. e. was once criticized for not adding the intro in Megalomania by other composers, never confident in her skills, etc. Also I see E4 in her because of perfectionist attitude towards shame of her skills. She always tries to capture the internal meaning and the beauty she sees as her own vision in the traditions and the settings (Pi) accompanied by the real physical qualities (Se) instead of external idea (apparently more random and comical). 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬: https://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2014/09/yoko-shimomura-interview «We discussed the idea of – rather than character theme songs – maybe making background music with the feeling of each country instead. For example, for India I wouldn’t make real Indian music, but I’d make what I imagined Indian music to be like. When I suggested that making some kind of world music with a comical taste might be funny, they said it was fine, and we went with it. For the music when you had ⅓ of your energy left and were struggling, I suggested making the music faster and more desperate. » This makes me think of many possible cases for her functions but I am pretty ensured in NF type for her.
