Personality

What personality type is Carietta "Carrie" White? Carietta "Carrie" White is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - so/sx - 594 in Enneagram, in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.

“Jesus watches from the wall, but his face is cold as stone. And if he loves me - as she tells me - why do I feel so all alone?” Carrie White is often mischaracterized in adaptations. The original character is a perfect blend of quiet and socially energized, being lead to a tragic fate by those around her. ISFJ: Carrie is diligent due to her fragility. She notices personal situations based on the impressions of her past and thinks about interpersonal situations negatively. Her inferior Ne makes her uncomfortable with change, stubbornly going along with new innovations, mainly sports and recreational activities. When Tommy invites Carrie to the Prom, she refuses and immediately assumes it’s a trick based off her past (Si-Ne), and rationalizes how leaving her comfort zone would end up in more torment (Ti). But her head is overruled by her heart and the need to belong (Fe), which convinces her to change her mind. Another example of her cognitive functions, primarily Si-Ti, is her repetitive nature during the Chamberlain fires; she relates noises and locations with previous experiences (the town whistle) and moves quickly to continue harming people. Melancholic-Choleric: Melancholy makes Carrie pessimistic, assuming the worst in scenarios of romance and friendship. Her secondary Choleric temperament makes her less organized and slow-paced, also reducing the idealization and imaginative aspects of the Melancholic temperament. SEI: Carrie is connected to her own physical state as well as the physical states of others. She understands that certain things will cause negative results (being deemed unattractive for her weight and skin), but goes into occasional rushes of energy with her powers. She also has slight interest in experiences that satisfy her physical needs, but doesn’t participate with others due to her reclusiveness. 5w4-so/sx-594: A prominent feature of Carrie forgotten in the adaptations is her greed for social recognition. Being a 5, she’s highly avoidant of people she considers unworthy (thinking certain women are “easy” based of her mother’s teachings). She’s aware of her social standing and sometimes doesn’t associate with people due to their nature, but this clashes with her social instinct driving her to fit in. Carrie yearns for greater understanding through knowledge of social ideals and gets angry when she fails. She compares herself to others with a self-loathing, feeling like she’s done something bad despite being a victim of the people she wants to be loved by. This victimization leads to repressed hatred violent thoughts. ELFV: First Emotion makes Carrie desperately curious about romance, endlessly longing for love and affection from those around her. Second Logic makes her open to discussion about topics, even giving witty remarks when comfortable. Third Physics makes her body sensitive to imperfections, not to mention sexually conflicted and prone to sadomasochistic thoughts. Fourth will makes her complaisant and easy to punish, evident by her agreeable and quiet nature with others for most of her life. RLUAI: Carrie is both self-loathing and jealous. She has trouble with concentration and recreational activities like sports due to her lack of energy, which leads her to be less interested in reality. The primarily related traits of Carrie and this type are loneliness, sadness, fear, poor productivity, anxiety, confusion, and a weak understanding of her purpose.
