What personality type is Shun Akiyama? Shun Akiyama is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sx/so - 549 in Enneagram, SCUAI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
I personally see way more Ti than Ne in this character. Like, I see the Ne in some cases, but other times it's shadowed by his Ti. For example, his arc in Yakuza 4 was that he wanted to verify his judge of character because he felt he was getting worse at it. This entire arc was about seeing through lies and his desire to find the truth. I'm pretty sure that's mostly Ti, and for that to be pretty much the basis for his character in that game? I think it's pretty telling what his dominant function is, at least from what I've observed. Besides his character arc, himself as a character is just Ti. He puts people through tests, despite how much money he'd lose, instead of asking for interest, purely to evaluate the person who wants it. It sounds like he values Ti a lot more, given this at least. Other small bits are like when he lost all of his money and didn't lose his composure at all, deciding he could "just get it all back again" (as if it wasn't 100 bil in yen). Setting aside the fact that this is stereotypical INTP in most cases, this is very much him making a logical judgement that he can simply get 100 billion yen back, which is possibly Ti and maybe a little bit of Si. I haven't seen any ENTP arguments yet, so I can't tell if the basis for the votes are for his cognitive function stack or just because he's outspoken and acts very extroverted. I'm eager to hear those arguments, by the way. Seeing what the ENTP voters' reasons are would probably help to efficiently evaluate my opinion.
Biography
Shun Akiyama (秋山 駿, Akiyama Shun) is one of the main playable protagonists of Yakuza 4, Yakuza: Dead Souls, and Yakuza 5. He is a successful entrepreneur known as "The Lifeline of Kamurocho" due to his habit of lending money to people with nowhere left to turn. He runs Sky Finance, as well as Club Elise, a hostess club which he commonly uses in his tests to earn a loan. Akiyama is a lackadaisical, yet kind person. Like Kiryu, Akiyama is always ready to help people in need, commonly putting the city's residents' needs over his own. Despite his occupation as a loan shark, he selectively lends out his money free of interest and collateral; instead, he gives unique tests to his clients before he loans them money to determine if they are truly in need of the money. He will sometimes help them accomplish their tasks if it is within his power to do so. He will not hesitate to turn down his clients if they fail his tests, though he is not opposed to second chances.
