Biography
Paulo Ghiraldelli Júnior (São Paulo, August 23, 1957) is a Brazilian philosopher, teacher and writer. Graduated in philosophy at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. He became a master and doctor in philosophy at the University of São Paulo (USP). He is also a master and doctor in philosophy and history of education at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), as well as having a post-doctorate in social medicine from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Ghiraldelli worked as a researcher in New Zealand and the United States, where he became friends with the pragmatist philosopher Richard Rorty, who was one of his influences and matter of studies. He is the founder and director of the Center for Studies in American Philosophy, a research institute focused on several aspects of American philosophy and, more broadly, with pragmatism in several countries and whose president of honor is the American philosopher Donald Davidson.
