Rat is a 5w4, however if you wanted to, you could say he has a "sub-type" of 7w6. Even though he fits type 7, being optimistic and experience-driven, at his core he is more type 5. You definitely could! I do believe he has some type 7 influences, but it isn't his primary type. He is experience driven, he is enthusiastic and curious, I get it. But to believe that his primary motivations align with those of type 7, is to me, a misrepresentation of his character. It is ignoring the depths of his viewpoints and motivations. It is ignoring the core of his character and how Rat became Rat. Though the wing 6 is very accurate as well, mostly due to the loyalist behavior–he is a cultist, after all. The themes of desiring security, being loyal to Samuel, and the paranoid behavior Jacob had towards those not within his circle–it’s all very fitting. But, I’d rather label Jacob as a 5w6. Yes, Jacob and Rat are the same. They are the same person, at different points in his life, and although he has changed slightly, it is not going to be as dramatic as people may believe. I believe Rat is a 5w4, while Jacob is a 5w6. Both Rat and Jacob have aspects of w4 and w6, though I do think Rat’s wing is leaning more towards type 4 during that portion of his life.
