Just learned about this guy in literature class, so far i think he's an 8. I don't think beowulf is fits into the being a 3 at all for his core, or even as an image triad core type in general. He doesn't have a passionate concern for one's image, or a passion on living off of the eyes of others. But what he does have is a desire for strength, lust, and power - which fits into the structure of an 8. I could see beowulf fitting into any subtype tbh but in my opinion he is most likely be social 8. He came to Hrothgar's aid in fighting grendel as a form of repayment to him from saving his father years ago, and proves himself by battling monstrous creatures threatening his kingdom/the people around him as opposed to fighting other men. This resonates a lot with the description of how social 8's are people who rebel against social norms, and how their violence arises out of solidarity.
