Personality

What personality type is Dexter Morgan? Dexter Morgan is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - sp/sx - 153 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.

I personally think he is an ISTJ, however I can understand why some people are voting INTJ. These are just my observations from me watching the first few episodes, but the Si-Ne is very obvious. He takes the past knowledge of what he knows, along with his morals formed from the past, and uses this to help him in the future. He has a routine that he doesn’t like to deviate from and is very uncomfortable with new experiences that he may not like. For example, the code of Harry is a method that he uses from the past and doesn’t deviate from even when he has the chance to. He simply plans and tries to make sure that there is no blindspot in his plans whatsoever (Si-Ne). On the other hand there is some Ni-Se seen in the way he makes deductions of bloodsplatters and other crime scenes. He takes in the sensory information and then deduces what this could mean in a singular idea rather than multiple. However, this could just be past experience coming into play, and Si can easily be mistaken as Ni if Si has enough experience to back up certain deductions. So Dexter is an ISTJ that the writers decided to give Ni-Se abilities or just an ISTJ that has a very good Si-Te function.

Biography

Dexter Morgan is the title character and antihero of both the Showtime series DEXTER and the Dexter Novels. He is a psychopathic, elusive serial killer in Miami, known as "The Bay Harbor Butcher," who targets and kills other murderers. His detailed method of killing allows him to avoid the justice system by getting rid of any potential evidence. The irony of Dexter's life is that he works closely and affably with homicide detectives and a forensic specialist. Dexter, himself a blood spatter analyst, collects, processes, and interprets evidence for the Miami Metro Police Department. He often uses his ability to access police databases or tamper with evidence for his personal advantage. By survival, Dexter is the most successful serial killer in the series.
