Dante Theodora Kang MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Dante Theodora Kang? Dante Theodora Kang is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - - in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
I believe he’s an INTJ with a very strong Te. I do not think he has an inferior Fi as others are suggesting. He understands his convictions very well, can easily question his family’s morals, and is aware that he has repressed his own inner desires: “That’s because the owner of my own heart was never me from the very beginning” (Ch.27) One might argue that this sounds like inferior Fi, in fact to me it sounds like an Ni-Fi Loop. Inferior Fi is less likely to articulate something this introspective. He has a future envisioned for himself, once that is threatened by others he undergoes an internal crisis. His personal values are strong but guarded which fitting for a tert Fi. Most of his inner dialogue is about what he plans to do, finding patterns and trying to understand the system of Fog Land as a whole. Classic Dominant Ni. When he meets Lychee and Rambutan he questioned their intentions multiple times, and ultimately concludes,“Something does not feel right”, again, classic Ni. It was sudden, pattern-based and hard to explain. When he tries to understand a system or person he thinks of them in the bigger picture, evaluating how they can be useful to him to reach his desired goal, here is his Aux Te at work. I will admit it’s a very strong Te, he gravitates towards anyone who can advance his plans and can treat relationships pragmatically in service of his objectives. However, it is not his dominant function because he seems to be able to put it aside when it comes to developing trust. “Good people matter to me” (explaining to the Dr. why he is going out of his way to help Grandpa Dumpling). He is ultimately guided by his internal vision rather than being efficiency-driven. Another reason why I don’t think his dominant functions are Te>Si is because fog land is more of an Se nightmare to him. It is unpredictable and illogical. That discomfort fits better with an inferior Se than Aux Si because he actually has a flexible internal model. He can adapt to systems once they are understood and he does not have a rigid adherence to first impressions (ie returning to 182 once he realises he’s not bad natured) New pattern-> revise conclusion is very telling of Ni/Te working together. Aux Si would have shown more resistance and rigidity to the novelty of Fog Land, even when hypothesising he can condense fog for consumption. I believe this was the result of Ni trying to understand Fog principles followed by Te action. He also literally selectively forgets faces, leaning him further away from Aux Si.
