Personality

What personality type is 1st Ego (Egoist)? 1st Ego (Egoist) is an personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - - in Enneagram, in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.

The Ego aspect is centred around personal gain and the accumulation of resources. In the first position, this creates an individual first and foremost concerned with their own survival, finances/possessions, and body. Matters of morality are disregarded if they'll negatively impact the Egoist's physical body and/or possesions. This causes them to be adequately assertive yet occasionally too selfish: they may hurt another or ignore another's call for help if such things are perceived as a threat to their survival. The difference between egotism and egoism is important. The Egoist does not inherently believe themselves to be superior to others like an egotist (though some may) — rather, they're more concerned with their own survival, potentially leading to miserly behaviours. Egoists typically do not overwork themselves, being highly attuned to and bothered by any kind of discomfort. In extreme cases, the Egoist may end up refusing to work at all, subconsciously convinced that all forms of pain threaten survival. In a healthier state, they realise that pain is sometimes required/unavoidable, though they may be more squeamish than most. Alternatively, however, an Egoist may believe that pain and tension proves that they're alive, feeling dead in idleness. They may have the desire to constantly stimulate the senses and expand their terrority — contrarily, the Egoist can feel no need to go past their territory in fear of what dangers lie outside of it.
