Personality
What personality type is Tobias "Twisted Fate" Felix? Tobias "Twisted Fate" Felix is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - sp/sx - 748 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.
Okay here's a bit of an explanation for T.F's being an INTP based mostly on the Burning Tides events. T.F. uses Ti to judge situations and then uses Ne to predict possible scenarios. He avoids circumstances he didn't have the time to analyze or predict, nor tries to generate them because he's not that interested in the exploration of possibilities, but he's quick to adapt and is able to make his way out improvising as well (Ti>Ne). He appreciates and uses logic, prioritizing it over his own and others' feelings, for example when he says he really wished to tell Graves about what truly happened back in The Locker yet he refrains from doing so because "there was no point" since Graves wouldn't believe him (such a Fe inf moment lol). This is pure Ti preventing him to do things he considers irrational; this is also why he's "quick to give up". A similar instance occurs when he's cornered along with Graves. Since he couldn't find a way out, he gives up as it didn't make any sense to keep going, unlike Graves who keeps fighting anyway (Graves being a Se dom). T.F. is also annoyed at Graves for letting his impulsiveness get the best of him and preventing him from acting rationally, which is a very Ti dom trait. As I said before, T.F. uses Ne to get ahead of most situations. In some short stories, we are shown that he imagines how a heist might play out differently before going in (he applies this pattern to most of the things he does though). An instance that shows his Ne is when Graves gives him the card to escape from Gangplank. He quickly imagines he could leave and how he would do it but at the same time conjures an opposite plan to save Graves. That's Ne considering several contradictory ideas at the same time regardless of the user's wishes (Ni vs Ne). The way he is constantly coming up with witty comments and replies is a very Ne thing as well. T.F. is superstitious, but that doesn't make him a Ni user because he doesn't use Ni to gather information, it's just his upbringing as a riverman (so it'd actually be Si). And even though he plans, those plans are in the near future, unlike a Ni user like Miss Fortune, who developed a single goal in the long term and pretty much everything else revolved around that. His perceptions are chromatic and multi-faceted, not singular and incisive. T.F.'s Fe is painfully inferior. He has a good grasp of social relationships and expectations because of his job as a gambler and swindler. T.F. has a charismatic facade he uses to deceive others, and as a form of self-protection as well, the former being the typical Fe user's ability to camouflage socially (this also totally rules out any Fi type since he doesn't care about authenticity nor moral coherence). However, T.F. couldn't care less about social harmony, even Graves' tertiary Fe shines over T.F.'s inferior Fe. In the latest story we got from them, Graves is the one that takes the initiative to smooth things over, even if T.F. knew that objectively, he was the one that had to apologize. His Si is more difficult to identify. By process of elimination, the placement is tertiary. There's some nostalgia to his character, the clinging to the river folk's techniques despite his conflicted history with them, and more shallow manifestations like the way he meticulously takes care of himself. Comparing him to Graves, who clearly has a desire for exploration, one can tell T.F. is more withdrawn in this area, which wouldn't be the case if he were an ENTP for instance. It's Graves the one that invites him to explore new places together, so T.F. having tert Si would make sense. T.F. loves danger and adventure, but he stuck mostly to the same formula that worked, unlike Graves who scrapped that all together and went on his own to be a Sentinel (unfortunately, now the Ruination is canon, so we gotta work with that). T.F.'s also the embodiment of self-preservation Seven, you can read any page describing sp 7 and it's basically a copypaste of his personality: ➼"These Sevens are very practical, good at networking, and skilled at getting what they want and finding a good deal; they tend to be opportunistic, self-interested, pragmatic, calculating, and clever. They readily recognize opportunities for creating an advantage for themselves." ➼"Self-Preservation Sevens are cheerful and amiable, with traits that resemble a hedonistic, “playboy” type. They tend to be warm, friendly, and talkative. They can express a kind of greed and impatience that reflects their desire to consume as many pleasurable experiences as possible. They expend a lot of energy on controlling everything, handling things without being noticed."
