I personally think he's an 8, let me explain: 8s and 1s can commonly be mistyped as each other because they have such strong senses of justice and are very action oriented people. However, 1s have a tendency to internalize their perfectionistic views while 8s are characterized by their confidence and ability to lead by sheer charisma. 1s are a lot more dogmatic in their approach, very much so a "you're with me or you're against me" mentality, they will do anything in their power to impose what they think is right onto the world and onto others while 8s are more likely to just power through their adversaries without much thought. He embodies confidence and is much more focused on action than reasoning or justification for it. Those are characteristics of an 8, not a 1.
Biography
General Li Shang is the tritagonist of Disney's 1998 animated feature film Mulan. The son of an army general, Shang aspires to succeed his father as the leader of "China's greatest troops". Shang's dreams are realized when he is appointed the head of a ragtag group of soldiers that must defend China from the tyranny of Shan Yu.
