Laozi MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Laozi? Laozi is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sp/so - 954 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
For some reason, on this site Laozi is typed as INFP while Zhuangzi is typed as INTP, when it's the other way around (perhaps just due to lack of familiarity). Laozi was a man who calmly observed the changes of things and so created a philosophy of pure change. There's very little emotional content in the Dao De Jing, instead there's plenty of paradoxes set up in a precise, Ti manner. Zhuangzi was the more existentialist of the two. He was the one who cared about identity and whether we could know anything with certainty.
Biography
Laozi (also Lao-Tzu , or Lao-Tze ; Chinese: 老子; pinyin: Lǎozǐ, literally "Old Master") was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. He is the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching, the founder of philosophical Taoism, and a deity in religious Taoism and traditional Chinese religions.A semi-legendary figure, Laozi was usually portrayed as a 6th-century BC contemporary of Confucius, but some modern historians consider him to have lived during the Warring States period of the 4th century BC. A central figure in Chinese culture, Laozi is claimed by both the emperors of the Tang dynasty and modern people of the Li surname as a founder of their lineage.
