Giovanni Verga MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Giovanni Verga? Giovanni Verga is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 514 in Enneagram, in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.

Zola is the typical INFJ and Verga is the typical ISTJ. Zola wants to write a scientific poem, in which the author is completely impersonal but his objective is humanitary: he wants to help (Fe). Still, he fails because his intuitive predominance is never surpassed by his genius as an author. Let’s take an example. In a part of “Germinal”, Zola talks about these people all going to the bathroom in public without “any shame, like puppies.” But that implies that he puts something they don’t feel inside the book, aka shame. If it was impersonal, shame wouldn’t be mentioned: Verga would not have written it and let the reader think that for himself. Zola is too focused on his ideals. He’s saying that there’s something innatively positive about being in the lower classes. That isn’t anywhere close to reality, it’s his mental build up. Verga doesn’t care about showing any idealistic thing inside people. He believes nothing can change anyway, that if there’s kids’ labour in Sicily, if people die by overworking and still can’t be happy and all these things, then it’s life. The writer has no right to judge history, because he can’t do anything to help it. These things just don’t change. And he was right in my view.
