As someone who excels at art despite not being an Fi dom, I just want to talk about what art truly is and why I believe it's more grounded on having to know how Se works. Ofc, anyone can be good at art regardless of typology! Whenever I draw, I do agree art has a creative input needed as it's driven by creativity and imagination, as well as expressing oneself. However, art itself come in different forms: music, dance, literature and traditional art (painting, sketching etc). However, despite it's visionary element of the subject, art still relies on having some sort of grounded form and needs the artist to apply a physical understanding on how to discipline at this skill. There are two things I want to point out: the subject 'art' I agree would be Ne driven, but the SKILL (basically drawing or the 'action' to express the art) would be Se driven. Art has helped me in both mastering a bit of Ne and maturing my Se. It's both ISFP and INFP - but the fact you need to have a clear understanding on how to apply the brush strokes, using details and forming a realistic approach on how to create the imagination from your head onto the canvas requires the grounded sight of ISFPs. In conclusion, yes you would be correct to say art (the subject) is Ne driven and expressed out by Fi, and you would also be correct to say art (the skill) is ISFP due to the foundation of having a contrusctive perception of reality and placing the creativity on that base. Personally, in my opinion, as art exists on a spectrum, there are different art movements that can be expressed differently by ISFP and INFP: surrealism could be INFP, impressionim could be ISFP, realism could be ISFP, fauvism or even abstract expressionism could be INFP etc. Not to mention, out of the Fi hole, the Dada movement seemed like an ENTP to me satirically :) (Oh yeah and the reason I put 4w3 is just based on personal experience rather than constructive observation, so my enneagram type vote is not really a serious vote lol)
Biography
"Art" is a word with multiple similar but distinct meanings. It is generally associated with visual arts, like painting, sculpture, etching, etc., but this is not its only definition. Broadly speaking, the word "art" is commonly applied to works from various media that are believed to have lasting worth, although this is extremely subjective. Calling a work "art" (or not) can be controversial, as it is a judgment of quality that can offend both sides of an argument. There are some who believe everything is art, and some who believe only a few things are art, or apply stipulative definitions; like "art is something that makes you FEEL." When people talk about "True Art", this is generally what they're thinking of. "Art" is also a title applied to various kinds of media. There are performance arts, such as Ballet and Stand-Up Comedy. Literature and Film are their own categories of art, as is Sequential Art (though like Video Games some people still believe it isn't).
