ISTJ? You're kidding. Where is the Te? Where is the Fi? o even Ne? This guy uses Se-Ti so much and clearly, he is Fi Blind, this is why he struggles so much to understand her daughter's authenticity. And I'm pretty sure he has some serious inferior Ni problems, the whole movie is based on his impulsive decision to take a road trip instead of thinking on the most obvious way to say sorry (also, didn't he shower a raccoon with rabies? like... with no hesitation?) and besides all the movie is a portrayal of his demon Ne (Fear of change and possibilities, and they show it in a comical way like his technology issues or being afraid of not understanding his family because he doesn't know how the world works anymore). I do get why you think he is Si dom, he seems to organize experiences (Si), but actually, I do believe he recollects them (Se) to share them with the one he loves the most (Fe). Ti aux is pretty obvious too, Rick does not follow any kind of structure in his life to be called a "Te User". He might not look like an ESTP though, but I think his quirkiness is what makes this movie so good and breaking stereotypes of the MBTI types. Also, his daughter is an ENFP (Ne Fi Te Si), he is the complete opposite (Se Ti Fe Ni), and that's why they complement each other but they don't see it the entire movie.
Biography
Katie's dad, a nature-loving man who finds himself exasperated by his family's phone usage. When Katie prepares to leave for college, he decides to take her and the family on a road trip to spend the time together before she leaves home.
