What personality type is Classic Sonic? Classic Sonic is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - sp/so - 972 in Enneagram, in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.

I believe that Classic Sonic is an ISTP, (as opposed to ESTP or ISFP, like others have stated) and here’s why. First, I’ll disprove the belief that Classic is an ISFP. Sonic has always had this “cool” attitude, preferring not to let his emotions get the best of him (unlike the ISFP, who lets their emotions take over). Rather, when faced with challenge, he slows down and think things through, leading me to believe that Classic is an ISTP. Now onto disproving ESTP. Classic Sonic is described as free spirited, similar to his Modern counterpart, and isn’t afraid to stand up for what he thinks is right (which is what causes him to chase after Robotnik in the first place.) This may sound just just like XSTP, but bear with me for a moment. Classic isn’t meant to have the cocky attitude that Modern has (When Sonic was brought to America and Europe, the people working at SEGA in those separate countries decided to rewrite Sonic to appeal to the western audience further.) Classic notably doesn’t see himself as a hero, only fighting against Robotnik because what he’s doing is wrong. He also doesn’t prefer to be in the spotlight, and isn’t a bubbly, extra social person like Modern. (He even runs away in the final cutscene of Sonic CD after saving Amy.) I hope this changed your guys’s views on this character, and I’m incredibly sorry if this sounded a bit rude! (Also I’m super sorry for the text wall T-T)

Biography

Classic Sonic is a heroic hedgehog, very much like Modern Sonic. He is always on the move, and is noted for being free-spirited and adventurous. Never in one place for long, he loves freedom and thrives on excitement. As such, he is always moving forward to look for his next challenge, making his life a never-ending series of adventures.
