What personality type is Chip? Chip is an ESTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - - in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
Im failing to see why Ne>Se personally... Perhaps I am not far enough (currently around chapter 15, will come back to this as I catch up) but he seems very Se driven to me... He is much more focused in the present, he rarely thinks ahead, tends to go with the first thing that comes to mind without processing it. He has a strong easy going live and let live vibe to him that is very typical of a Se user. Even in Chip on my shoulder as he confronts Gillion about his ideals, his main issue is feeling under appreciated and unrecognised for how accepting he's been of Gillion, he does not actually push a particular agenda of how Gillion should or should not behave (which Gillion in return in a way does do). This sort of thing is again very common in Se users, as they have a very non-invasive way of interacting with others when it comes to their views and ideals of the world. It is hard to understand how Chip would use Ne as he is extremely present bound, I have yet to identify a moment where he even considers several possibilities before passing into action. He is particularly decisive and rarely goes back on his actions, considering options that could've been better or regretting whatever he is doing halfway through (relatively common in ENTP 7s). He is impulsive, reckless, and so far rarely has any idea of where the ship is going. At least his initial arc before character development is marked by a strong hedonism, which tends to make him rather unenthusiastic of going through hardship, and a strong anchor in materialism. I don't know man... While these traits are not limited to Se users, they are much more prominent in them than in Ne users.
