Conrad Oxford MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Conrad Oxford? Conrad Oxford is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - so/sp - 126 in Enneagram, RLOAN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.

🦠: Okay, let me write this after watching the movie, while my memory is still clear. Upon examination of the character, I found his role to be very similar to Caitlyn Kiramman from Arcane, an idealistic rich kid who believes they should do what is right (typed here as an INFJ 1). So I was a bit shocked when I came here for the consensus. We don’t have a lot of information about his character, so I won’t be able to go too in-depth, but I believe based one what we’ve seen, he seems like a stereotypical xNFJ character. (Please note that the quotes here are not direct quotes, just paraphrased according to my memory) Ni: Conrad is an idealist. He’s rather tunnel-minded, believing that he should serve his country, and the only way to serve her is by going to war. He is very fixated on this goal, ignoring his father’s warnings about war. When he was a child, he witnessed his mother dying before his eyes, an event that would normally push someone away from death, such as war; instead, he decides to become a soldier, showing low preference over Si. Fe: I was torn between Fe and Fi, but Conrad seems to put emphasis on collective value over his own. In the part where the spy gives him the envelope containing the German handwriting thing, he decides to take the spy with him, saying, “We go together.” His reasons for joining the war was because he believed that even affluent people like him should serve the country for the good of the people, as opposed to his father wanted to shield him (Fe > Fi). Despite this, he always takes into consideration his father’s words. He’s shown to be very polite, and he apologizes for saying what’s on his mind. Many of his actions seem to stem from wanting to help people, not wanting to express himself authentically. If he were an Fi user, he would have been more confident in asserting his values, but he was hesitant to rebel against his father. Even in the very end, he still asked for courtesy from his father about his decision. Ti: Shola: “I believe that if God wanted man to fly, He would’ve given them wings.” To which Conrad responds, “You drive the car, don’t you? You don’t have wheels.” Conrad is quite intelligent. His Ti can be mistaken for Fi, as he is pretty insistent in what he thinks is right, but since it's in the lower function, he has trouble asserting himself to his father. Se: Se is his lowest function. As stated above, he ignored his father’s warnings about the ugliness of war due to his fixation on his (Ni) goal. In the middle of the war, he cries, overwhelmed by the scene. His idealistic nature, combined with his insistent Ti, makes him dismissive of the sensory. I was deciding between INFJ and ENFJ, but his character was more inward focused, like an INFJ’s Ni-Ti, than outward focused, like an ENFJ’s Fe-Se. He also seems to be more balanced between T/F functions than N/S functions. As for Enneagram, the 6w7 consensus doesn't really make sense. Conrad never really wanted security, in fact, when his father was giving him all the security and comfort he needed, he refused it, because he believed he should serve in the war. His main desire isn’t comfort, it’s doing the right thing. Moreover, w2 > w9 fits, as 1w2’s are more action-oriented and serving than 1w9’s. Popular 1w2’s: Hermione Granger, Light Yagami, Captain America, Daenerys Targaryen. Popular 1w9’s: Elsa, Itachi Uchiha, Todoroki, Thanos. Overall, his character is similar to Caitlyn Kiramman, if you watched Arcane. If you look at ESFP 6w7 characters, you’ll see they look nothing like him. Compare him to Eggsy, an ESFP, and you’ll see the difference. Admittedly, he was kind of vanilla, but he did bear a striking resemblance to the INFJ 1w2 “idealist” kind of character.
