What personality type is Lucas Wykes? Lucas Wykes is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/sx - in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.
Here I'm going to explain why he's ESTJ>ENTJ, since my original comment thread was already full with why ESTJ>ESTP. Just like @Avice mentioned in the replies, it's quite difficult to tell anything about his Aux and Tert functions, since we don't really get to see that much of the character, let alone his thought process, so explaining exactly why he is Si-Ne would be quite difficult. But I'll still do it to the best of my abilities. The main difference between ENTJ and ESTJ (at least in this case) is their planning. An ESTJ would still plan ahead, but it wouldn't be as far away and it would be more detailed then the ENTJs planning, basically that's the main difference between Si and Ni in general, and that's also something we cannot really tell, since we don't get to see his thought process. At what point did Lucas decide to betray the others in the dungeon? We can judge that it was planned ahead, but how far ahead? And for how long? Personally I feel that it was a plan he started coming up with since the AA-rank lost his arm, but you can also argue that he had this emergency plan from before entering the dungeon, and there would be no way for me to argue. Aux-Si - "Narrow-minded or rigid, relies on personal experience only in rejecting others’ experiences and/or ideas (poor Si and poor Ne development); careless with details or learning things completely. Makes poor comparisons due to a lack of nuance or awareness, poor prioritization of tasks, too much focus on being ‘in’ the world and not enough on self-care." - as you can see, most of these points we can't prove nor deny because of lack of information about Lucas himself and his thought process, however, we can say that. Tert-Ne - "Thinks oneself more intellectual than one actually is, does not know how to choose between good and bad ideas, may fantasize about other people and/or trust their ‘insights’ (which may or may not be right); low levels of idealism (either being too idealistic and trusting, or too negative about the future and other people’s motives); may leap on new ideas without caution and make mistakes in judgment, prone to chaotic but shallow thinking" - again, same problem. From later events in the novel I could prove more points, but that would obviously spoil, so if you want I'll write a separate reply later. So instead of going into why this function and not that function, let's look at the bigger picture here for a moment. "When unhealthy ENTJs feel vulnerable, insecure, or incompetent they tend to counteract it by becoming critical, adversarial, or cutting off emotions to rationalize everything (even things that can’t be rationalized). They tend to appear perfectionistic and condescending to the outside world. Especially unhealthy ENTJs may even try to make other people feel incompetent so that they can make themselves feel stronger. It becomes vital to them to not show any sign of weakness or vulnerability, even if they feel especially unsure and vulnerable on the inside." - I'm pretty sure there are much more misses then hits in regards to Lucas' personality "Unhealthy ESTJs play ego-defensive survival games when they are feeling extremely insecure, overworked, or uncertain. During this phase they can become critical, nagging, complaining, or self-pitying. They will often use these ailments and other methods as a way to shed responsibilities or withdraw from whatever is causing them insecurity or stress. If they are at an extremely unhealthy level, they may belittle or bully those who they perceive as weak or lazy and draw attention to the perceived incompetence of others." - that seems to fit him better. In short, the unhealthy ENTJ becomes oppressive and critical for the sake of hiding their weakness, oppressing their emotion and instead using facts and logic in order to make others submit. While the unhealthy ESTJ wouldn't necessarily search for direct domination over others like ENTJ, and would only care about getting specific things done, no matter what method, they would still prefer logic due to Te-Dom, but could also use other methods because Si-Aux, rather then the ENTJs Ni. This was a pretty general overview, and I will probably go into more detail as the discussion goes on in the replies.
