I feel Ahmad Tohari wrote him while expressing his feelings; how to be a son from a fortune family in the middle of a less fortunate society. That can be seen clearly, as young as Kanjat, he must understand the state of various society that grow in his environment. I feel like there is a mental pressure when he come to his friend house, Darsa. He feel awry could not helping anything for his society. He just can not give a contribution, he very regret it. Another scene in the book, he is written as a pragmatical person. The only one scholar in his village. Till he take a master and got an engineering degree at young age, and started to become a lecturer. I think the Si is very close with pragmatism, and the text above it, obviously talks about his Fe as secondary function.
