Nana MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Nana? Nana is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/so - 641 in Enneagram, RLUAN in Big 5, IEE in Socionics.
Okay, girls, bros, and non-binary fellows. It’s analysis time. For MBTI…I don’t actually know. It seems like people are just voting for INTJ because “Ooh the clown lady is jaded and tired of people”. But I don’t think people realize WHAT the song is about. The song is actually not about a Clown girl who works at the circus and is annoyed at all the flashing lights and loud noises. The song is about Imposter Syndrome, a condition where the people suffering from it don’t believe they should have any of their accomplishments, and not in an “Oh I don’t deserve any of this” kind of way. More like “Why the HELL do people think I deserve ANYTHING?!” People who suffer from impostor syndrome tend to experience a lot of burnout. The line “Please shut up you make too much noise.” Is NOT because Nana is tired of hearing little kids screaming and shouting. But rather, she is tired of receiving praise and getting compliments because Nana feels like she doesn’t deserve it. Also, If Nana didn’t like working as a clown and dealing with people then she wouldn’t be one in the first place. Nana clearly shows signs of extreme burnout and anxiety about disappointing the audience that watches her performance. NiTe just doesn’t fit at all. While yes, Nana is clearly phlegmatic, that doesn’t mean that she is an INTJ. Dominant Ni is not ANYWHERE in this song. Neither is Aux Te. Fi however is definitely in this song, as this entire song is about Nana venting her feelings of inadequacy and anxiety. However, the lyrics imply that Nana is not ACTUALLY talking to anyone and is simply talking to herself. Keeping her emotions bottled up because she doesn’t want to disappoint anyone. If we’re to consider MBTI types her type is most likely INFP or ENFP. Why ENFP? I mean it seems like I was vetting pretty hard for Fi dom earlier. Well, it’s because Nana also shows a lot of ENFP traits with Star of the Show. And not just because of the “Clown stereotype” ENFP has. But rather, The ENFP functions. Dominant Ne shows up as a consistent comparison. She believes people view her as a “Deity’s performance”. She’s constantly comparing herself to other, better performers. Comparing people's praises to that of “Helium-infected voices.” She also clearly ENJOYS working at the circus. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be a clown. While it IS a bit stereotypical to say, Ne loves mental stimulation. What would be more stimulating than working at a place with flashing lights, loud noises, and being able to dress up in whatever way you want? Clearly, Nana chose to work as a Clown because she ENJOYS being around people and making them laugh. Auxiliary Fi is described as “Holding value to things, such as Ideas/Morals/Choices.” Simply put, Aux Fi is saying, “This is good. This is bad. Because that's how I feel”. Nana VERY much has Aux Fi. Her belief of, “I am not good. I cannot do anything BECAUSE I am not good.” Is Aux Fi. “Don’t assign my talents in the wrong category.” this shows that she thinks she knows her value. Tert Te for ENFP is determined to discover leaps in logic, facts, and reasoning. Unhealthy Te, however, does the opposite. It encourages unhealthy thinking, makes huge leaps in logic, and completely disregards facts. But where does that show up with Nana? “I don’t see the correlation, where’s the logic, if there’s any?” Nana cannot, will not, and does not, see any logical explanation for her being praised. She cannot understand how people can see her as good, or even adequate. And last but not least. Inferior Si. Now while Si doesn’t SEEM to appear in the song, it does. Very very subtlety. Criticalness. “Just move along. It’s nothing new. No touching this or this or that.” Nana is tired of the same old routine. Seeing reoccurring guests makes her tired and angry. She doesn’t understand why. “Why did they come back? To see me? No that couldn’t be it. To see the circus again? That’s dumb. It’s nothing new. Just get out of here. Move along.” Nana doesn’t understand why people like her. Nana in my opinion seems like a very unhealthy ENFP who has gone into a ISTJ like state due to stress. Dom Ne makes her consider the possibility that she’s inadequate. Aux Fi latches onto this and agrees. Adding value to the illogical perception. Tert Te ignores all the facts, making everyone else seem “Illogical” with their praise. Inf Si makes her tired. Tired of the routine. To her, all she’s doing is “Telling jokes people take too seriously.” Why do they like her? Why do they keep coming back? It doesn’t make sense. TLDR: Nana is an ENFP who desperately needs Therapy. And being a self-deprecating 6, shame-filled 4 and self-critical 1 doesn’t help her.
