What personality type is Yan ZhengMing? Yan ZhengMing is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - sp/sx - 962 in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
I can see both Se and Fi in him, but he obviously has inferior Te. In his natural state as a teenager, he was a willful kid, unproductive and prone to inertia, unwilling to perfect on functional methods and skills. Even when he had sudden realizations about cultivation, he didn't act on them pragmatically (Ni＞Te). He had no blueprint of actions, didn't have practical goals, and rarely drew any logical conclusions based on objective facts (repressed Te). Later in his life, he frequently displays traits of Te grip, "trace of domineerance" in precarious situations. He acts forcefully, dominating the situation at the risk of his own life, especially when Cheng Qian's safety is under threat. Inferior Ni is often shown in strange conjectures, or being unable to have correct futuristic visions , which I don't really see in him. As for enneagram, I am a little torn between 9w8 and 7w6 but ultimately he craves to be at peace with the environment, and doesn't show much 7w6 core desires despite being a hedonist. He integrates into a 3 when he finds a purpose, rather than a 5.
