Biography
The founder-king of Thebes and husband to the goddess Harmonia. Cadmus may not be as well-known in the modern day, but he's an important figure in the mythology as the very first Greek hero ever, descendant of Io and ancestor of Dionysus. The story of Cadmus was a turbulent one, beginning with being sent by his father to rescue his sister Europa from Zeus, to founding Thebes, to slaying a water-dragon sacred to Ares and serving him for eight years as punishment, to finally being transformed into a serpent at the end of his life.
