As I ve written on the Aphrodite page its not that one can say Roman gods are just copies of the greek ones. That is uneducated thinking and far from the truth. Though there was synchreticism as always when cultures come together there are other influences like the etruscans and sabines that certainly had an influence on the roman pantheon. So as I said his association with strategy, patriarchal order and agriculture which is more pronounced than with Ares who just seems like pure mindless violence indicates te dom with si aux.

Biografie

The Roman equivalent of Ares. Though similiar in many ways Mars was not only the god of raw violence but took over the strategic aspects of war from Minerva. However he was also an agricultural deity for peace times and a symbol of order thus having significant distinct features from Ares.
