I would like to put forward an argument that Kappa is NOT in fact a 2. This is an extremely popular typing for Kappa, and it is pretty easy to see why, but ultimately I believe when looking at his motivations, he is honestly not like a 2 at all. The evidence I believe most people are going off of to type Kappa as a 2 is during Season 2 at the castle colonies, where he explains to Mucku why he continues to fulfill prophecies, as they are one of the only things that makes him happy. However, his identification with serving others is really only because it is how he was raised, not because it is part of his nature. Kappa hates the idea of people relying on him or regarding him as a perfectly generous being that exists for them. He hates getting special treatment and his entire character arc revolves around him breaking AWAY from the prophecy cycle. 2's, however, are primarily motivated by the desire to be needed. They want to be valued by others so they form an identity around pleasing and serving them, and can fall into manipulative habits when they begin to feel like they aren't needed anymore. 2's also have a tendency to feel like people owe them for their kindness, Kappa doesn't demonstrate these traits at all, even when he is at his worst. Kappa, as much as he loves the positive attention he gets from fullfilling prophecies, also hates it. He hates being needed by people, as it's not actually what he chose for himself. It's all he knows so he finds pleasure in it in a desperate attempt to regain his autonomy, its cognitive dissonance. "If i have to serve others, I might as well enjoy it." In the end though, what Kappa is really afraid of is letting people down. He's not afraid of not being needed, if anything, the idea of not being needed is a relief to him, because then he isn't at risk of disappointing anyone. What Kappa really wants is a world where people don't expect things from him anymore, where he is free to live as himself. But he is terrified of people being upset or angry with him. When he meets the witches, his first instinct is to acknowledge their faces of distrust, and convince himself he deserves it. His constant efforts to fulfill prophecies are to ensure he never lets anyone else down ever again. The anger directed at him by King Tunny combined with the memories of his past trauma gives him a panic attack for goodness sake. Kappa hates being needed, its his curse. Hes not a 2 the world is just telling him he should be. I genuinely think Kappa is a 9. Please stop typing my poor boy as a 2 thank you goodnight. - this is the only comment ive ever made on this website and its because i am so passionate about this. i will die on this hill. getting 2w3 off of this character profile is my lifelong battle i will succeed i am prepared to write a 5 paragraph essay on why kappa castle swimmer is not a 2 if you are reading this thank you i appreciate you have a nice day
