Shirou is a head type, not a gut type, so 8 core for him automatically fails. Fear is the most prominent aspect of his character - how many instances does he lament the accursed "deja vu"? Shirou is concerned primarily with outrunning the foreknowledge he dreads so much through the fixation of planning - he gets into a brutal fistfight with his best friend just because there might be a chance of his life divulging from its set path.
