I think he's definitely on the Fe-Ti axis and here's why: He has the ability to "read the room" ; understand people's emotions ( in the case of Alyssa), pick up on non-verbal cues and he's also extremely influenced by the environment in which he is in (Alyssa, an ESFP Te user being harsh on several occasions). Two of his key-characteristics, his cute politeness and social anxiousness showcase clear use of Fe; he fully understands social functions and that's the reason why he's embarassed when he's not able to live up to such expectations. In the same context, an INTJ , or anyone on the Te- Fi axis, is awkward, but not really ashamed of the fact. On top of that, where Alyssa is straight-forward and says what she feels no matter what people will think, James consides the situation and the mood before he speaks. A clear Fi user (Alyssa) would just stand up and say what they're feeling (see the scenes with her father). Instead, he explores the mood of the environment and the emotional state of other people, using that information to adjust his behavior and speech accordingly. * There are even a few instances in which he tries to stop Alyssa from saying what she feels because he feels that it's an inappropriate time for her to be so blunt. He's able to comprehend how others are going to perceive her words, an ability which she either doesn't possess, or a fact that she straight-up ignores. * As for his Ti, I believe it's so strong I almost considered INTP. He uses it to analyze data and come to general conclusions, showing us the Ni-Ti symbiosis which makes him brilliant. I believe his robot-like behavior and general apathy in season 1 would make him appear INTJ, but that's stereotypical, and we're trying to observe his cognitive processes instead. To further counter the INTJ argument, I don't see any Te in him. He's physically unable to become harsh and doesn't judge a decision based on its results. Rather, his thinking is extremely flexible and analytical. TLDR: Fe>Fi, Ti>Te, don't fall for INTJ stereotypes
