Poor girl. That scene where she was all alone in that stadium, her drink spilling on her, was so heartbreaking. Nothing dramatic or theatrical like Veronica and J.D. cooked up for the fake s**cides. Just numb, frustrated loneliness, the feeling of being utterly forgotten and overlooked, all the little disappointments adding up to be too much for her to handle. That scene hits me, chokes me up in a way 13 Reasons Why never will. It touches on the sheer MUNDANE bitterness that is depression (I'm okay readers, don't worry). I'm so glad Martha met Veronica at the end.
