as someone who is extremely inexperienced with typology, there’s a 99% chance that i’m wrong, but i figured i’d put in my two cents since nobody else seems to be here. Rensi gives me obvious Se-Fi. despite “definitely ha[ving] a bit of a ego on him” (EBYL wiki) and his less-than-impressive academic performance (C student + Oto saying he would “probably [be] a twitch streamer 😭 maybe when he falls off he’d work at McDonald’s” LOL), he clearly has a genuine sense of empathy and concern for other people, shown when he apologizes to Hibiki after mistakenly thinking his dad was dead, complete with an “oh shit” expression. it’s a small moment, but i think it says something about his Fi. his Te is also pretty apparent. his reasoning can be rather blunt and simplistic (immediately jumping to conclusions about the word “was” comes to mind). he also seems to use external accomplishments and measurable statistics to justify his ego, such as his 1,000 subscriber count and his measly, meager $10 in donations. i think his inferior Ni is worth considering, too. now, here’s where i’m less certain: Enneagram. i genuinely think he fits E7 quite well, seeing that he “likes to have fun more often than not” (EBYL wiki), but doesn’t that create a bit of a contradiction with his ESFP typing? i’m also undecided between an 8 and 6 wing. for his instinctual variant, though, i’m leaning pretty heavily toward so-dom. his mention of his subscriber count, promotion of his channel, and him literally calling himself “kind of a big deal” all strike me as pretty socially dominant. he seems more interested in maintaining his social presence and personal projects than pursuing intense one-on-one connections, which makes me suspect sx-blindness, though i am aware that’s not what the sexual instinct is all about. Oto themselves even said, “Rensi probably has no luck getting anyone to like him romantically,” so there’s that. Oto also described him as follows: “Out of all ebyl characters I think Rensi is the best match for Hibiki in terms of friends. He’s goofy and unserious and upbeat and unbothered by basically everything” “I hope u guys know that Danae and Rensi were genetically modified in a lab (government testing facility) to be perfect friend candidates for FB and Hibiki respectively. I’ll never let it happen though” assuming Ren really is an E7, i’d narrow his tritype down to 793 or 783. the 9 fix would make sense if his generally carefree, unserious, and easygoing attitude is more central to his personality, whereas the 8 fix would better explain his ego, the physical, unbothered way he carries himself (like pointing a knife at a startled Danae), and etcetera. i’m not confident at all in this typing, but i think there’s at least some evidence to make it an interesting possibility.
