He's said that he felt suffocated by the long term planning of Genesis before he departed. He has said he's much better at starting than finishing. So, P is more likely than J. He's said that he was painfully shy off-stage and only developed a visual performance style to keep the audience from getting bored. So, I is more likely than E. His plans are often more abstract and conceptual than practical. The Slipperman costume is a classic example. It communicates a metaphor, but the microphone can't quite reach his mouth. WOMAD is another example. So, N is more likely than S. The T vs F is hard to tell. He often talks about wanting to communicate something "real" that "touches people," which is a very NF thing to say. As opposed to Tony Banks (who is likely an NT) who tends to talk about the cleverness (for lack of a better word) of the music such as chords, key changes, musical techniques, etc. So, I vote INFP.

Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950) is an English singer-songwriter, record producer and humanitarian who rose to fame as the original lead singer and flautist of the progressive rock band Genesis. After leaving Genesis in 1975, Gabriel launched a successful solo career with "Solsbury Hill" as his first single. His 1986 album, So, is his best-selling release and is certified triple platinum in the UK and five times platinum in the U.S. The album's most successful single, "Sledgehammer", won a record nine MTV Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards and is MTV's most played music video of all time.
