A somewhat obvious INxJ, but he is not INFJ. His aversion to writing about himself only demonstrates the typical emotional detachment of an INTJ, as an INFJ would be much more peaceful about their own emotions. Although the band's lyrics are observations of external feelings (NiSe, purely), they are very distant and detached, analyzed with logic rather than in a sentimental and expressive manner as an Fe user would. Overall, Gira is too distant and unexpressive to have a high feeling function. The perfectionism and criticism of his early albums are signs of the pressure that Te puts on his own work; the perfectionism of an INFJ would manifest in a different way. Edit: I'm reconsidering my vote. I don't know enough about him to judge, maybe he could even be an ISTP, I don't know. I understand that the transcendental meditation of his music leans towards INFJ/Ni dominant, but I can't determine his intentions for sure.

Michael Rolfe Gira (born February 19, 1954) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and artist. He is the main force behind the New York City musical group Swans and fronted Angels of Light. He is also the founder of Young God Records.
